Self-employed borrowers using business funds are required to provide a CPA letter for two points of verification. 1) the existence, structure and ownership percentage of the business, and 2) confirmation that the use of business funds will not be detrimental to the business. This letter must be written by a licensed CPA; not a bookkeeper or by yourself. If you do not have a CPA, you may often hire one to review your basic financials and write your letter.
Sample CPA Business Verification Letter:
<CPA Firm Name>
<Firm Address>
<Phone Number, Email>
<Date>
Re: <Client Name> and <Business Name>
To whom it may concern,
This letter is written confirmation that <Client Name> is the founder and <percentage>% owner of <Business Name>, a <sole proprietorship/S-Corp> which has been registered with DCCA and conducting business in <State> since <Year>. In review of past and current business financials, <Business Name> is currently active.
(if needed) The use of business funds in this transaction will not have a material adverse impact on business operations.
Should you have any questions please contact me.
Sincerely,
